Yesterday's 5 miles was definitely better having been run after being awake, and loose, for a few hours. I ran at noon and initially was a little tight but as the run progress but loosened up to the point of feeling really strong the last 3 miles. I finished in a little over 40 minutes at 8:10 pace for the whole thing. The last mile was in 6:50, telling me that my running fitness is definitely showing progress. It must be those rest days. Makes me wonder what the Thanksgiving Day 5k that I'm running will be. I felt REALLY strong the last mile.
While I'd like to be another 5 pounds lighter, I'm not going to obsess about it. I have enough time to adjust weight as the winter continues. It still amazes me that the weight thing can vary as much as it does and that I am able to lose 5-10 at will. Will, I guess, is the key word.
I still have doubts about the amount of work that I am doing. It just doesn't seem right to run "long" two days a week. I know, patience, Grasshopper. We'll see.
