After two gruesome weeks of not running, I was back on the road today. What a day to start - rain/sleet and 30 degrees. That being said, it felt great to be back. I only went 4 miles and my calf acted up again, with a little bit of a cramp developing around the two mile mark but not enough to make me stop. I'll probably regret that decision on the morning but for now,.....
Of course I wasn't satisfied with just the run. I finished with 32 minutes on the elliptical, mainly to get a good sweat going. Mission accomplished.
My weight is down to where it was before Hawaii - around 165 after a workout. I'm happy here but would like to try to get to 158 sometime in the next few months. Why 158? Actually, I would be happy with 158.8. Haha. 158.8 would be exactly 50 lbs. from my max. Amazing that I was almost 210 at one point almost 3 years ago. Truthfully, it's embarrassing.
I signed up for the Rock and Roll Half Marathon on August 1, 2010 in Chicago. That is the one that Sara and I will run together. Hey Squirt - now that it's in print and published, you need to get in shape. By next August, I might have someone reading this and you don't want me to say that you didn't finish, do you? How's that for inspiration? (love you, kiddo)...
