55 Today

Turned 55 today with little fanfare (appreciated) other than all the kids calling and Deb being her wonderful self. As I said a few days ago, milestones don't mean much. That being said, I decided to go a bit harder than usual - 80 minutes hard on the elliptical, followed by a slow, pain free run of about 14 minutes. Aren't you proud, Sara? I'm holding to the every-other-day plan and so far, so good. Why go harder than normal? 55 of course and ego.

Tomorrow will be an easy day of 64 minutes on the elliptical to work up a sweat but with the resistance way down. I haven't ever done an easy one on the elliptical but am going to try tomorrow. I enjoy the time in the gym. Now, let's see if I can go easy for a change!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. Two advantages that I see so far - cheap coffee at McDonalds and in an older age group at races. How's that for making chicken salad out of chicken guano? (note to daughter - I make myself laugh, just like you do).
