True to my promise, today is an off day. No elliptical, no running, nothing. Mike Slade and I went on a motorcycle ride south for about 3 hours but no real exercise. And I didn't think I could take a day off and enjoy it!
All things considered, I think I needed the day off. I have been increasing my mileage by about 15% per week, but when you start from virtually nothing, 15% isn't really much. Other than the slight (and I mean slight) twinge in my calf a few runs ago, everything seems OK. I did 4 miles on Friday and felt good, other than being really tired. My pace is off about 30-45 seconds per mile from what I'd like to do but all things considered, I'll take it. So it's slow and easy I go. Damn, this is hard!
Sara is coming to visit this Thanksgiving and I'm looking for a race (at her, not my, suggestion). I'm thinking an easy 5K so that we (anyone who wants to) can run/walk. Wouldn't it be cool if the whole family ran/walked/skipped/pranced/cavorted over the same course at the same time? OK, maybe I'm dreaming.
Sara, think you can talk your brothers into it if I talk Mom into coming along?

Isn't there an event on the Sprint campus around Thanksgiving? I seem to remember it being closed for a race.
