While on vacation last week in the Dominican Republic, we decided to take a Segway tour. You know, one of those two wheeled, gyroscopic controlled vehicles that are absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to fall off of. I admit it...I fell off of a Segway and broke my collarbone. Yep, sure did. I'm not going to tell you the story because it isn't important (that I actually threw myself in front of a school bus that was careening out of control toward a group of children playing in a park and as a result of the collision with the bus, my collarbone broke - but the bus was demolished and the kids saved....errrrr......well, that's not EXACTLY what happened...). What is important is that my running future is on hold.
I had surgery last Tuesday to put a plate and a handful of screws into the collarbone to keep things together. I'm sure that I will be a prime target for the TSA now. Tomorrow, I see the doctor for a check on the progress. Everything feels good now. I'll post again after the doc tells me what he sees.
More tomorrow...
As always, thanks, Mom, for reading...
