... about 10 on the road. It was cold again here today (or I am a wuss) so I went to the gym at the clubhouse in our neighborhood and did 3 on the treadmill at a VERY modest 8:50 pace. While I felt great doing it, it was as boring as watching paint dry, despite the TV and my iPod. Could I have done more? Sure, but I might have gone postal afterward. Some knucklehead was in there lifting and opened the windows. It was moderately warm but I like to work up a good sweat when I work out. This joker had it about 50 in the room. I followed up with 45 minutes on the elliptical, for a total of almost 6 miles. I'll be glad to get back on the road. And swim. And lift. Jeez, there is a pattern developing here.
I remain excited about the marathon in April, despite it being 4 months away. The fact of having a goal, measureable results, and a plan seems to fulfill my inner need for clarity of purpose and metrics. I know, relax, right? After all, I'm supposed to be "retired". But who says retired means that you sit around and accomplish nothing??
