Back on the road yesterday and I was able to do 6 without any trouble except a ping in the calf again, this time at the 5 mile mark. And this after deciding to go S-L-O-W, around 9:30 a mile. I stretched it and (of course) continued running. It loosened up within 400m, indicative of a cramp instead of a tear or pull. That's a relief. Troublesome, nonetheless.
Swimming this morning was in order as today is a cross-training day. About half hour in the pool proved just how badly my swimming capabilities have deteriorated. How could I swim 1500 or 2000m as a kid and not be able to complete 400 without stopping? That's right, Sara hit it when she told me I've got O.L.D. disease. The best part of swimming is that I know that in 2 months, 1500 will be easier. I hope.
