Another Day in Paradise - and a Tease

Another beautiful day today - 72 and sunny.  It's just a shame that today was a machine day.

I guess I should call these "off" days or "cross-training" days, since every training guide seems to suggest that just about every other day should be EASY.  Well, I start out easy.  I really do.  After 15 minutes or so, I look down and realize that my level of effort, as indicated by my leg turnover, has risen from 40-50% of max up to 70-80%.  I slow down, get involved in music or a podcast, and a few minutes later...70%.  At least I'm realizing that I should be taking it easy.

I titled this before I wrote it and now realize that I haven't really written about Paradise.  Kansas City, you say, is Paradise?  Are you nuts?  Well, for me, at this time in my life, it is all I could ask for.  Retirement is agreeing with me , Deb and I have been able to coexist in the house, the kids are all relatively close, and the weather, for now, is great.  Give me a month or so and I'll start complaining but for now, it's perfect.

Teaser - watch this space.  There may be some changes coming in my status.  No, not my marital status...
