What a beautiful day here in Overland Park. Sunny, about 75 (at noon as I write this) with nothing but sunshine. I don't think the weather could get any better than this.
To those of you who have responded to my "which race" questions, thanks. John, it's great to hear that you might be feeling better. In a later post, I'll discuss which race I have chosen and why. At this point, I'm leaning toward the "easy-to-return-the-body" races (local) and small.
Yesterday was an elliptical day, a little over an hour on the machine at a pretty good clip. It's hard for me to determine level of effort as correlated to running. I can't do much more than an hour on the machine, however, as my feet ache after that long. I have gone as long as 90 minutes but paid for it later.
My strategy hasn't changed as I begin to think about a full 26.1. I have found a few every-other-day plans and am convinced that I can finish respectably with that level of training and the fitness that I will get, so long as I work on the cross training. Sprinting never required this much thought.
One last thing. Looking at the blog stats, BURUNDI is the location of one of my visitors from yesterday. As always, regardless of why you read this, where you are, and what your intent, thanks for sharing...
