5 minute run and no pain

After almost 6 weeks without running, I was able to run for about 5 minutes today without pain. Truth be told, yes, I wanted to go longer but was able to hold out and step away after only 5 minutes. I'll run for the same time every other day for the next week and then reassess how I feel. Truthfully, I felt great - not winded, strong and able to go farther but - and someone ought to be amazed - I was able to step away, both mentally and physically. From a physical standpoint, I guess that the elliptical has keep me fit. From a mental perspective, while I hate not being able to run, being able to do something was better than bed rest.
