We finished. Yep, amidst all the angst, the heat, the sweat and the frustration, we finished....together. Sara wanted to run the whole way and she did (potty breaks don't count). Sam ran 5K with us and then asked if we minded if he ran alone just a little faster. Nah, go ahead. but the story of the day is, we all finished.
I'm not going to gush about what a fantastic race it was, how very fast we went, or how great we felt (up through 8 miles, anyway). I will, however, tell you that I am very proud of the way that Sara and Sam ran. They both showed courage and perseverance.
As for me, I fulfilled another half of my goal. Ben, are you listening? Fishing? Kite flying? Mud bogging? Golf? Let me know and we'll do it together.
